I’ve met a lot of different classifications of resume on the Internet and in the books. I believe there is no universal one. But we can easily divide resumes by writing service types.

Entry resume

The most affordable one in terms of size, complexity level, and money. This offer can be found in both resume writing and academic services as far as the heaviest users at this stage are students and freshmen. As an expert, be ready to write down the entire story from scratch and explain every step to a cranky teen. That’s why professionals do not usually accomplish such kind of orders. Any newcomer to resume writing industry can handle entry level resume. Entry level resumes are the shortest. They consist only of Personal Information, Goals, Skills gained from particular activities and Education. It would be nice to have at least one place of work on a part-time basis, but we all begin with something.
Don’t relax – your first resume must still sound persuasive and attractive. Catch an eye of the HR by focusing on your college achievements, summer activities, any internships, productive volunteering, job assisting, and more. For instance, if you are applying for your first Accountant position, the best example to come up with is the sample of your Advanced Finance project on the investment portfolio. Or attach a sample of your business plan. Of course, if your papers are highly graded, you can boost them. Do not send drafts or F papers along with your resume. It is better to think of other strengths or write a cover letter instead.
Mind that there are life situations when it would be more productive to visit the head office or go directly to the shop. It all depends on the type of job, vacancy urgency and number of people an employer is looking for. Where should you look for your first full-time job? Every position with a tag “senior” might suit you right. The chances of getting upper-level position are subtle. The basic rule of sending your resume is to treat yourself properly. Be as sober as a judge: don’t try to climb the mountain that is too high for you. You lack a special equipment that can be found during the years in the corresponding field.

Professional resume

Who is considered an expert? Do not confuse this term with an expert or executive. A professional level requires not less than two years of experience. During this period, you build your career path to enter the leading positions. An applicant may decide to go further within his native company, or move elsewhere. Usually, in the second case he starts thinking about changing his resume completely. It can be done in two ways: either by filling the blank fields like Professional Skills and Career History (that must be richer by that moment) or writing a brand new resume from scratch. If you hesitate, you’d better hire a professional for doing that.
You should set priorities wisely. You might be a school teacher with two years of experience with High Math students. Being honored, you decided to enter the next proficiency stage by applying for a college/university position of High Math/Statistics tutor. That’s when you will inevitably need a Professional Resume. In the case of the teacher, it is desirable to put Educational Background before the Experience. In addition, such candidate must have either two degrees (one in pedagogy and another in the subject been taught), or a single degree only in one of these fields with a couple of certificates from another (courses, seminars, trainings, etc.) Outlining achievements in an efficient manner is a passing ticket. Before submitting a professional resume, you also need to know the market. Conduct an independent research which will help you to understand the demand, wages, and your rights for the particular position. Discover what has been changing within the industry during those two years you were gaining your reputation. All of the employers are looking for up-to-date skills and competencies. In case you feel some necessary knowledge, attend the corresponding courses before rearranging your resume.
Often, a company you’re working for should provide its employees with a number of free trainings and seminars. Visit every single one. The skills you will gain there might pay back in full later. For instance, by visiting front-end developers meetings, you may soon combine your basic system administrator duties with programming or web design. Thus, your salary will increase dramatically. On the whole, these two years of becoming a professional requires the biggest investments into your self-development. Read more educational materials, listen to various presentations, watch different videos. During your interview, you will then have some achievements to mention instead of sitting in an awkward silence. You always have to share new knowledge to grow. Your educational rewards are not relevant any more. It’s never too late to catch up!

Executive resume

This one can be done only by an expert. Wondering what is the difference between these last two? Well, to call yourself a professional, you have to perform a robust minimum two years of experience in a particular field with the ongoing courses and trainings. As for the executives, these guys are real experts. They have mastered ten or more years within a particular industry. They have nothing left to study about their primary position, so they expand their horizons by joining other departments. In most cases, such people apply for CEOs or heads of the department. The difficulty in composing an executive level resume is that on this stage, a person has a lot to talk about. However, the paper still has to be limited. Overloaded information is a minus even for the most progressive and perspective workers. It is critical to highlight all of the break-even projects that influenced your career growth.
Executive resume is a head and shoulders above the other types. Starting from its feed and ending up with the format (PDA is more preferable for this kind of paper). Whenever grammar/spelling mistakes can be ignored in entry or professional level resumes, there is no way of allowing any while writing your executive one. Except for the strengths, you need a confidentiality guarantee. Keeping information private is a half success, as far as a resume/CV of an executive looks more like an article that has to be unique. But some people steal even resume information. Take care of your safety first. It might sound silly, but some executives protect their resumes with a ©.
Who can claim to be called an executive and apply for the corresponding positions? Well, if we’re speaking about health care field, a chief physician is a long way from registered nurse and surgeon assistant to PCP. A green light is given to those who managed to achieve some meaningful heights. You have more chances of obtaining the highest company’s position if you can provide your boss and the rest of the personnel with vivid examples. Except the CV, prepare graphs, schedules, reports, and presentations to show your place in the company. More modernized approach is to use social networks such as LinkedIn or Twitter instead of the resume in Word. However, don’t rely heavily on your social page: in any case, don’t hesitate to create few versions of your resume. It will raise your chances of getting hired.
To help you with your spicy problem, there is a range of professional writers waiting out there for you to place an order. Each of them tries to persuade he is a truly expert. But is it really so?
